MonkeyRewards: Spread Some MailChimp Love!

If you love MailChimp, you can help us spread the word, and get rewarded for every new customer you refer. You just stick a MailChimp badge in your email campaigns, and if you refer a friend or client to MailChimp, and they become a paid account, you'll both get $30 in credit added to your accounts (good for your next purchase). It helps you, it helps your friend and it helps us. It's a win-win-win situation! Your $30 credit can be applied to your monthly plan, or you can use it to purchase email credits, or even MailChimp add-ons!

Add A MailChimp Badge To Your Campaigns & Signup Forms

Note: If you're using a MailChimp free account, the MonkeyRewards badge is turned on by default.

All you have to do is turn on MonkeyRewards for your email templates, and pick a MailChimp badge. We'll do all the tracking for you. What's really cool is you can log in to your MailChimp account, and see how many friends you've referred, and how much you've earned!

Selecting your badge for campaigns

You can also turn badges on for your list signup forms. It basically works the same way as the email designer:

  1. Log in to MailChimp.
  2. Go to your "Lists" tab.
  3. Select your list, then click on the "Design Signup Forms" link.
  4. On the next screen, you'll customize your signup form's design. Pick the MonkeyRewards tab, and follow the steps above for activating the badge, then selecting which one you want displayed.

Placing Your Badge with *|REWARDS|*

Advanced Users Only: If you don't want the badge to appear in your footer, you can place it wherever you want (like your side column) by using the *|REWARDS|* merge tag in your email campaign's HTML code. Wherever we see that tag, we'll put your default MonkeyRewards badge there, along with your trackable link. Just make sure you pick a default MonkeyRewards logo for your email campaigns first.

Select your account's default badge:

  1. Log in to MailChimp.
  2. Click the "Account" link in the top navigation
  3. Select "Become an Affiliate"
  4. Pick your badge! This badge will be displayed wherever we see your *|REWARDS|* tag.

Checking your MonkeyRewards Stats

We'll show you how many customers you've referred to MailChimp, and how much you've earned in MonkeyRewards. Here's where to get your stats:

  1. Log in to MailChimp.
  2. Click on the "Account" link in top navigation.
  3. Select "Become an affiliate"
  4. Your MonkeyRewards dashboard is at the top of the screen.

The Rules

Wherever there are rewards, you've got moochers and abusers. Sigh. It keeps things interesting. So here are some rules:

  • MonkeyRewards have no cash value. They can't be redeemed/refunded as cash. They can only be applied towards MailChimp purchases.
  • MonkeyRewards can only be used and redeemed by MailChimp customers who are in good standing. If we have to shut down your account for any reason, you obviously cannot use your MonkeyRewards.
  • You cannot transfer MonkeyRewards to different accounts.
  • We can revoke your MonkeyRewards credits at any time. Sounds harsh, right? We're unlikely to ever do that, unless you do something truly annoying or stupid. We're not going to list the annoying or stupid things you can do to make us mad, because that's like a magnet for stupid and annoying people. Just don't do stupid stuff with MonkeyRewards, and we'll leave your credits alone.
