One-Click Campaign Previews and Spam Filter Checking
MailChimp's Inbox Inspector add-on makes email testing easy. You click one button, and we'll automatically generate over 25 screenshots of your email in all the major email applications (including Outlook 2007 and Lotus). We'll even tell you if the email triggers any of the major spam filters, and show you why.
Who is this for?
The Inbox Inspector should be used by e-retailers who need to squeeze every little drop of possible ROI out of their campaigns. It can identify costly design mistakes and prevent spam filter blocks before you send.
Bulletproof Email Designs
If you're a creative professional, you can use the Inbox Inspector to check all of your client's email campaigns (even if they use some other hoity-toity service to deliver their emails).
Can't I just do this email testing myself?
Of course, but it's expensive. If you built your own comparable testing lab, you'd spend about $8k in upfront hardware costs, and $2k per year to maintain all the software licenses. We've done it ourselves, and we know what a hassle it can be maintain. That's the whole reason we created the Inbox Inspector. You click one button, and you're done testing.
Is this a free service?
Sometimes. This is an optional add-on to your MailChimp account. Inbox Inspector reports are sold in packs of 3, and they cost less than what you'd charge for one hour of your time. Bulk pricing for high-volume users is available. MailChimp customers who participate in our MonkeyRewards program earn free inspections for their referrals.
How Fast Is Inbox Inspector?
About an hour or three. We check your campaign by sending it to real ISPs and email services all over the world. These are not simulated screenshots. So it all depends on the availability of the ISP at the time you run your inspection.
Things You Can Do With The Inbox Inspector
- Web designer? Do you send emails for clients? Charge them for a complete email campaign evaluation. They'd love to know if their campaigns are getting blocked by spam filters or email firewalls, or if it's breaking in Lotus Notes. Inbox Inspections come with a handy "Print Report" button (idea for Mac users: print to PDF!)
- Check your organization's transactional emails. Do you know if your email receipts have something spammy in them? Do they render properly in all the different email programs? What about your email list welcome messages?
- Double-check your HTML code. Broken or sloppy HTML code can result in spam filter blocking. The Inbox Inspector will scan your HTML email for problems, and tell you exactly which line to fix.
- Try new designs. Tired of using the same old template? Test your new design to make sure it works in all the major email programs.
- Heard all the commotion over Microsoft's changes to Outlook 2007? Do you know if your old template is compatible? The Inbox Inspector generates real screenshots of your campaign in Outlook 2007, so you'll know for sure.
- Gearing up for a big sales campaign? You've got your email designed, and your landing page ready to go. Now check your campaign in the Inbox Inspector to see if your call to action appears above the scroll. See if the email renders correctly in the new Beta services, like Windows Live Beta, and Yahoo!Mail Beta.
