MailChimp plugins for Drupal, Wordpress, Ruby on Rails, Zen Cart

June 3rd, 2008 | by Ben

firefoxscreensnapz001.jpgEver wish there was a simple plugin that allowed you to add MailChimp’s list management and delivery power to your CMS, e-commerce cart, or blog? Some crafty MailChimp customers wished the same thing, and have used the powerful MailChimp API to create plugins for Drupal, Ruby on Rails, Zen Cart, and more. And we’ve created a “/plugins” directory to showcase their work:

http://www.mailchimp.com/plugins/

[update: most of the Ruby on Rails "plugins" were actually API Wrappers and thus are on our API downloads page: http://www.mailchimp.com/api/downloads/]

The latest is from Scott Wilson, aka ThatSoftwareGuy, who created a discounts plugin for Zen Cart. Pretty nifty!

Developers, if you’ve got a plugin, be sure to tell us about it. If we post your plugin, we’ll send you a Chumby as a thank-you gift.

      Drupal plugin. Awesome. :)

I didn’t realize there was a MailChimp plugin for Ruby on Rails. Looks like I’m going to have to dig into it and get it running on my site.

This is fantastic! There was always this missing link between my web applications (built in rails) and my Mailchimp account. My clients are going to love this.

Loving the Wordpress plugin! Not sure if this is the right place for feature requests, but in your next version could you add an ID to your form or put the whole thing in a wrapper to help facilitate stylin’ that chimp?

Awesome - keep up the good work -

Thanks, Bob. I FWD’d your comments on to our API team.

      • Ben says:

Bob, our API team says they’ve already been working on your suggestions (because we needed the same thing ourselves) so they’ll be releasing an update to the WP plugin soon.

    • Bob Holling says:

      Hey Ben,

Thanks for the consideration. A much better and simpler solution crossed my mind later. I’d be happy to forward a bit of code your way as a sample, if that would help your API guys.

      Cheers -

      b
