MailChimp Goes International - 15 Translations Coming Soon
June 27, 2008 – 11:03 am
We’re currently working on MailChimp v3.2. Along with a few other really cool features, we’re going to have translated versions of our entire opt-in process (signup forms, welcome emails, error messages—everything) in the following languages:
- Danish
- Dutch
- French (European)
- German
- Italian
- Norwegian
- Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Spanish (Latin American)
- Swedish
Those are the languages our customers have been asking for the most. Any other requests?
Please chime in below with comments. We may be able to work more translations into this release if we get enough suggestions soon enough.
And speaking of MailChimp traveling abroad: Natalya Kungurtseva, a very nice artist from Kazakhstan, sends us “Frederick von Chimpenheimer IV Travels The World” (we turned her beautiful artwork into a .MOV slideshow).
Update: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish (EU), Hindi, and French (Canadian) have been added to the list.

Having mailchimp handle Japanese would be fantastic.

Ok, looks like the translation service is not going to be able to get us more in time for v3.2’s release end of this month.
New translations will need to wait for v3.3 (maybe end of August, depending on the features we plan)
So far for v3.3, we’ve got Japan, Korean, Chinese, and Spanish/Spain on the list.

For my Canadian clients, Canadian French (as opposed to the European version) would be a nice thing.

I’m currently in the process of selecting an e-mail marketing application for a Dutch company. Adding our languague would be great! It gives me an extra reason to persuade management to go for Mailchimp! Could you drop me a line when it’s available?

A Greek version would be great for us in Greece. Maybe we can help you do it.
