I've been so "under chocolate" hah lately I had not caught up on my feeds. This is awesome. You drew and answered with some great ideas from our conversations. Thanks Ben! I can't wait to try some of them and put it into play.

A great idea. In Australia, in order to have draws (aka lotteries), we need to get permit for each state which will cost a fair bit. I am not sure what the legal requirements are like for USA, but i thought i mention that here as a hurdle to think about.

Perhaps a solution involving skill might be good use, but overall, i like the way of thinking!

Marketingsherpa case study that discusses using sweeps + hard bounces to update/clean your list. Similar effectiveness as ECOA. (membership required, and well worth it)

great idea...I've been kicking around the thought of a giveaway item for updating profiles. I've setup an autoresponder (thanks for that addition BTW) to send out a message 3 days after somone registers for the list. That has worked on a very small percentage of new signups.

I could see filling out my profile to win something!
