Email Opens Geographic Map in MailChimp

January 18th, 2009 | by Ben

When you send an email campaign from MailChimp, we’ll show you how many people opened the campaign, and how many times they opened. If you want, we’ll even show you who opened the campaign, just in case you want to target them for a followup message.

Now, you can actually see where they’re opening from:

This is a free report you’ll find under your normal email campaign stats, and it’ll make your manager or client totally poop their pants. So be really careful with it.

Here it is in motion:

So is there any chance that we can get a link that will give a table of this information? I have noticed that if there are not many people in a country that have clicked, then it is hard to see that country on the map. A table of results would be super cool… Just my 2 cents…

@Brad – A couple other people have suggested this, so yeah. We’re looking into it. At the moment, we’re a little more focused on getting autoresponders live for v4.1, but i’m sure that soon after that we’ll go back and enhance all our stats. Thanks for taking the time!

Great use and customization of amCharts, love it.

How far can you zoom? We are located in the United States, and i noticed in the video you can zoom in to view stats on states but can you also view counties and cities?

Two questions: 1. it says you can tell me WHO opened…is this a list of email addresses?

      2. How is the geo tracking done–by the data in my contact profiles or by checking the IP address?
