People have been asking us for an email template that combines the simplicity of plain-text emails, but the formatting and trackability of HTML emails (think CNN breaking news emails). So we added a new layout called "Rich Text," which is available in the campaign creation tool.

Merge tags allow you to personalize your emails. One of the most basic and common uses of merge tags would be something like, "Hello, *|FNAME|*" inserted as a greeting for your email. The tag *|FNAME|* will insert the user's first name, making for a customized email experience.

The entire opt-in process of your MailChimp account (the stuff your users see) has been translated into 8 more languages, and will be available in the upcoming v3.3 release (release date TBD). At the request of our customers, we've added:

We've recently upgraded our Inbox Inspector to include a bunch more email previews from ISPs and webmail services around the world.

Whenever you send an email campaign in MailChimp, there are these little links in the footer for the forward-to-friend tool, unsubscribe link, update-my-preferences, etc.
Before, if your recipients hovered their mouse over those links, they'd see MailChimp's domains (actually, we made them look pretty generic, like "foward-to-friend.com" or list-manage.com).

Ever since we launched our Google Analytics integration, eRetailers have been eating it up, and sharing all kinds of great ROI stories with us.
