API Upgrade – Pass Content To MailChimp

May 20th, 2008 | by Ben

We just added some new functionality to the MailChimp API. We also totally revamped the API documentation, so users can post and share notes with each other.

The new API has a number of improvements, namely:

  • Ability to pass content to MailChimp for delivery
  • Ability to schedule campaigns
  • Ability to send test emails

MailChimp has always allowed you to use our API to seamlessly sync list data and campaign stats back and forth with your server. But passing content was the “missing link” in our API. No more!

You focus on content, we handle delivery.
So if you code a CMS, or run an internal publishing system, you can now build content and designs (the fun stuff) on your system, then pass it off to MailChimp for the delivery and list maintenance part.

If you’re not a programmer, and you don’t have any programmers on staff to help you with our API, you can hire a MailChimp Expert here.

Awesome! This is a feature we will definitely use. Thanks for consistently adding great features.

      That’s the ticket.

Was just getting ready to start programming on the API next week — good timing. And thanks for the serialized XML — my preference for my client work.

These were the critical missing pieces.

Now if you just had a pre-built .NET class it would save me some work.
      You LAMP guys — :-)

      Yay baby!!

I’ve been missing this feature, and I can’t wait to get started on implementation for my CMS.

      Excitement all over …

      Thanks guys.

This is great news! We’re working on an interesting platform for managing a web business online and I this means we can provide a much better user experience to our customers for interfacing with Mail Chimp. We shall be in beta soon.

Glad you guys find this useful. When your integrations are complete, be sure to contact us so we can showcase your work.

A second here for the .NET class, please….

We just completed a .Net class for the MailChimp API. Any volunteers for a little beta testing? send an email to api -at- mailchimp -dot- com
