Programmer

MailChimp is looking for a self-motivated programmer who cares about performance and creating powerful tools that are fun and easy to use. You'll help the technology team develop our core MailChimp.com product (over 185,000 users and growing fast). We're a PHP/MySQL shop but what's more important to us is that you have experience working in multiple languages on large code bases and are adept at managing interdependencies in code. Of course, you must also love monkeys.

Essential Duties:

You'll work with our product development team to build new functionality into our product. You'll also work with our customer service team to resolve issues as they arise.

Required Skills:

Passion for always learning new things and expanding on new ideas
Able to work independently, with minimal supervision
Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP environment
JavaScript, XML, and AJAX

Tech Support Geeks

MailChimp provides world-class live chat and email support to over 185,000 users across the globe. Our customer support team is looking for some helpful people with more advanced knowledge of HTML and some web design basics, to help with the more "tricky" trouble tickets. You don't have to be a rock-star web designer, because you won't be doing web design work. But you do need to know HTML well enough to troubleshoot HTML email design and coding issues. If you're the type of person who loves hunting down that pesky <pre> tag that's screwing with the footer, or that missing </td> tag that's blowing out the table, or the floating DIV that just won't work in Lotus Notes, we want you.

Required Skills:

HTML coding and basic web design experience
Solid understanding of CSS
Experiencing working with RSS feeds
Ability to handle online chats with multiple people at once
Well-versed in the subtleties of chat/email etiquette
Superduper multi-tasking skills
Fast reader, fast learner
Web power user (you can scan and answer questions on twitter, getsatisfaction, message boards, email, etc)

Web Designer

MailChimp is looking for some damn good web designers who are strong on branding, typography, and handy with code.

Essential Duties:

You'd work in our inhouse DesignLab to help manage the MailChimp.com website, work with the product marketing team to develop new content and landing pages, and occasionally help the UX team with web app design. You have to be a multi-tasker who likes to tackle new and different challenges constantly.

Deliverability Engineer

Do you believe that achieving great deliverability is all about schmoozing with ISPs? Sigh. Don't apply within. Instead, we're looking for a tech-savvy, security-focused spam hater with abuse desk experience who can help us police the MailChimp network, safeguard our reputation, and help our customers do good.

Essential Duties:

Work with engineers to optimize servers, and the product interface for better deliverability
Monitor system deliverability across multiple data centers in multiple countries, respond to issues as they arise

Requirements:

Experience in a related abuse desk or deliverability environment
Must hate schmoozing, but still play nice around humans
Looking for someone who believes the world actually is composed of ones and zeros, and with enough experimentation, can be fixed.
Programming experience a big plus.
